The China Coast Guard (CCG) on Tuesday organized vessel formations to conduct law enforcement patrols in waters around Taiwan Island, Zhu Anqing, spokesperson for the CCG's East China Sea Bureau, said in a statement.
The CCG carried out drills such as inspection and capture, interception and detention operations against unwarranted vessels, according to the statement.
"Taiwan is a province of the People's Republic of China. These drills are concrete actions to exercise legitimate jurisdiction and control over the island in accordance with the one-China principle," said the statement.
