2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Independent State of Samoa. As of April 2, the China-Samoa mutual visa exemption agreement has come into effect, facilitating travel and exchange between the two countries.
Often referred to as the "Jewel of the South Pacific," Samoa is located in the western part of the Samoan Islands in the South Pacific Ocean. The nation is composed of two main islands – Upolu and Savai'i – along with eight smaller surrounding islets. Its capital is Apia. As a key birthplace of Polynesian culture, Samoa is proudly known as the "Heart of Polynesia." With a long and rich history, vibrant traditions, and pristine natural beauty, Samoa shines as one of the Pacific's most stunning and culturally rich destinations.
Samoa offers a unique blend of natural wonders and human heritage: from mysterious rainforests and thundering waterfalls to crystal-clear rivers and time-honored cultural practices. Among its many treasures, the To Sua Ocean Trench on Upolu Island stands out as a breathtaking volcanic swimming hole – often hailed as a natural wonder by travelers worldwide.
Samoa is more than a tropical getaway. It's a model of how ecology and culture can thrive together. With sustainable tourism on the rise and easier visa access in place, now is the perfect time to discover the magic of Samoa.
