Feng Bin retained the women's discus title at the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea on Thursday, propelling China further ahead in the medal standings with 12 golds. The victory marks Feng's third consecutive title in the event, following previous triumphs at the 2019 Doha and 2023 Bangkok editions, while also extending China's remarkable streak to 12 straight women's discus gold medals at the continental competition.
Feng, a World Athletics Championships winner and Paris Olympics silver medalist, landed a winning throw of 61.90 meters on her final attempt – the sole effort to surpass the 60-meter mark on the day.
"I aim to achieve even better results, and I believe I have the capability to do so," Feng said while reflecting on her achievement.
