CGTN has partnered with the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA) to showcase the growing ties between China and Uzbekistan, as part of the "Central Asia Expedition" media tour. The collaboration comes ahead of the China-Central Asia Summit, which is set to take place in mid-June.
A team of six Chinese journalists embarked on a journey across Uzbekistan, traveling in new energy vehicles to highlight the expanding cooperation between the two nations. They were accompanied by Utkir Alimov, deputy editor-in-chief of the UzA's International Relations Department, as they explored bilateral collaboration in areas including trade, investment, infrastructure development and cultural exchanges.
The joint coverage will air on CGTN and UzA platforms. It features significant events like the China-Uzbekistan Local Cooperation Forum in Samarkand and a visit to the production facilities at BYD Uzbekistan Factory in Jizzakh. It also highlights Uzbekistan's tourism potential, featuring the country's iconic destinations, including Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent.
