More than 60 domestic and foreign films have been confirmed for China's 2025 summer movie season, featuring diverse Chinese productions alongside major Hollywood sequels, according to a press conference held on Friday by the China Film Administration.

The summer season, the longest theatrical window in China's annual film calendar, will span multiple genres of Chinese films including historical drama "Dong Ji Island," comedy "The Lychee Road" and animation features like "Nobody," which is adapted from popular internet characters, as well as classical literary adaptations "Curious Tales of a Temple" and the latest installment of the beloved "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf" series.

The season will also include highly anticipated international blockbusters such as "Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning," "Jurassic World Rebirth," "How to Train Your Dragon" and the Formula 1 racing-themed action film "F1."

The conference also announced initiatives under China's 2025 "film consumption promotion year," including nationwide discount programs to encourage theater attendance.
